Participation in the 15th CCC 2024 in Cardiff (UK)

Presentation of research on the late antique letter collection of Isidore of Pelusion by Dr. Sandra Erker at the 15th Celtic Conference in Classics at Cardiff University (9 – 12 July 2024)

The 15th Celtic Conference in Classics (CCC), this year organised by the School of History, Archaeology and Religion of Cardiff University, took place on 9 – 12 July 2024 in Cardiff (UK, Wales) and covered 30 panels on major topics in Classics and Ancient History (including philosophy, literature, archeology, art and reception studies). The Conference, hosted annually at different international venues, aims at fostering interdisciplinary and international research collaborations.

The DFG-Project Monasticism and Local Self-Organisation: Monastic Letters, Horizontal Binding Forces, and Urban Community in Late Antiquity participated in the panel “Literariness of Non-Literary Texts from Classical to Late Antiquity” with the presentation of research by Dr. Sandra Erker on the topic “Communication Strategies and Rhetorical Practices in the Letter Collection of Isidore of Pelusion”. The panel was organised by Dr. Maria Sole Rigo and Dr. Lorenzo Livorsi (Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg).
